I’m not a makeup artist but a simple consumer of good drugstore foundations. I know how amazing the high-end foundations can be but also not everyone can afford them, for that reason I tested and used for a while 4 drugstore foundations that I liked.
My skin is dry and I would say somewhat sensitive. When I wash my face I always have to put a moisturizer because my skin gets very tight. I don’t use foundation every day but when I do I want my face and skin to feel moisturized.
4 Drugstore Foundations For Dry Skin
1. Maybelline Dream Cushion Fresh Face Liquid Foundation
There is nothing bad I can say about the Maybelline Dream Cushion Liquid Foundation. It’s creamy and has long wear. With that being said I really don’t like the applicator. It was really hard for me to apply it to my face so I hope Maybelline improves the applicator because when I used it it was falling from my fingers. Otherwise, it’s a great product and my skin felt really comfortable.
2. Revlon ColorStay Makeup for Normal/Dry Skin SPF 15
Revlon ColorStay foundation is very runny (I wish it was a bit thicker). You need to be careful not to make a mess while applying it because it dripped from my fingers. Otherwise, I liked the color match and coverage. Also, SPF15 is a plus because I forget to put sunscreen on my face and when you have a product that already contains it, it makes your life easier.
3. Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint
Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Tint is a great foundation. I love the consistency and wear. The only problem I had is the applicator (maybe it’s just me and the applicators haha).
I didn’t use the applicator because it can easily add bacteria to the bottle, so instead, I just poured it from the bottle. Again it’s a great foundation with long wear and my skin felt good for many hours.
I also love that it contains hyaluronic acid because my skin was very dry last year and I met a cosmetologist when I visited my country and she saw my skin and told me to use products with hyaluronic acid to help my skin get more oxygen.
Since then I do that as much as possible and my skin definitely improved.
4. Covergirl Simply Ageless 3-In-1 Liquid Foundation
Hello, ageless skin. Covergirl Simply Ageless Foundation is another amazing drugstore find. Love the way it applies to the skin, it is very smooth and flawless.
Since I’m not in my 20’s anymore I have to focus on products boosting hydration, preventing fine lines and wrinkles. Love the way my skin feels, after a couple of hours it is still soft and hydrated.
I will try more drugstore foundations in the future and write a review about them. I love discovering hidden gems on a budget. Feel free to leave a comment with questions.
